Just out of curiosity what is everyone's majors and what have you learned so far? Personally I haven't learned an OZ of knowledge that I didn't know or couldn't have read in my public library. I have a feeling it's going to be like that up until my last quarter of college. If I could get that damn bachelor paper elsewhere I sure would put my 53k to better use. As for me I find myself on a "journey of knowledge" like usual. Today, I bought a Nurbs 3D Modelling book for 50$ marked down to 4$ and a Adobe Premiere 6 book for 20$. Soon as I conquer those poosebags it'll be more animation "toots" and then CGI/Perl/Javascript. Any of you pooses have the thirst or are you too worried about summer?

I am an English major, NC. I strive for knowledge in spite of my trash ways. However, the only classes at school that challenge and inspire me are past English classes and Art History. Conventional history is the same as it is in high school, minus longer reading and more complicated papers. Philosophy is a bunch of garbage. I hate it, and the people in my class.
Art History, however, makes me happy. The reading is interesting, and the works are beautiful. It's fun to listen to the explanations of paintings, and while I have no artistic talent myself, I appreciate the works of other artists. Art History is a good class, requires little work, and makes me happy,
English, of course, is my first love. I like books and writing, and I don't need anything else. However, my new professor and class do suck. British Lit 1 (Beowulf to Milton). No fun at all. Olde English text is really boring and annoying. I prefer Master P to Chaucer.
But I learn more everyday. School is sort of worth it, though I wish I could take classes in my favorite subjects all the time instead of being stuck in a liberal arts education. At least I need no math, though. Fuck 'em!

I've been learning tons in my production classes. But the general subjects teach me shit. It's like I'm getting a review from like 8th grade education. I have Intro to Visual Arts but I dislike being told the interpretations of paintings. I like the art, but the teacher telling me all this stuff pisses me off. And then she pounds all this shit about no one in the class could ever have any art talent at all and stuff like that. It's pretty bad.
We did the look ahead to the next film class tonight and 16 mm is going to be so awesome. I can't wait!
